Your Postpartmum Village

Broghan head and shoulders(2)

Hiya, I’m Broghan!

I started this venture in October 2023 out of a deep understanding how heavy the load is for Mums. I know firsthand how transformative it can be when mums feel supported and valued.
I’ve been a stay-at-home Mum since my little goob joined us in 2020 – and now as CEO of Postpartmum, my mission is to create a postpartum era where no mum feels like she has to do it all on her own.

My village is more than I could’ve ever imagined – I know I am one of the lucky ones. I’m well aware that there are plenty of families with little to no support in the form of a village, some may not feel like they can’t reach out to their own loved ones, or had to move towns, countries even. We are here to help bridge that gap!

If we better support our mothers, that ripple effect is huge through their household and beyond. The mental load is incredibly heavy and Postpartum can help relieve some of that as a preventative measure. A mothers rest is so vital, and I’m that little helping hand they deserve.

Sara head and shoulders

Hey! I’m Sarah

My name is Sarah, I live here in Ōtepoti with my partner Tom and our two boys Henry and Arthur. We love spending time adventuring together rain or sunshine to the beaches, forests or bike parks around Dunedin. I love photography and going on really long walks but also I wouldn’t say no to an afternoon nap in the sun!

I work in the mental health field, have a Bachelor of Social Services specialising in Counselling and I’ve just finished the certificate in Foundations in Perinatal Mental Health. Alongside this, I have lived experience of perinatal distress, anxiety and depression. My partner and I know the struggles first hand of having a limited support system around when having a new baby or introducing a new baby into the family.

I am overjoyed to be apart of Postpartmum and looking forward to supporting birthing people and their families through practical support in their homes.

Lauren

Hi! I’m Lauren

I’m a mum to three wonderful kids, and together with my husband, we live in stunning Alexandra on our beautiful lifestyle block. It’s home to sheep, chickens, cats, an olive grove, and Marley the dog. I enjoy gardening, curling up with a good book, sewing and line dancing.

When I had my children, I was incredibly fortunate to have a village of support – friends and family who stepped in to help during those early days. I truly couldn’t have done it without them, and that experience shaped my desire to pay it forward. Being a mum can be really hard, and having that support made all the difference.

Now, I’m passionate about helping other families create their own “village” to navigate the postpartum period with love, care, and connection. I’ve had the privilege of working in roles that taught me compassion, adaptability, and the value of connection – whether as a veterinary nurse, an au pair, or a home-based educator.

It’s a true honour to walk alongside families during their postpartum period. Welcoming a new baby comes with joys, challenges, and everything in between. I’m here to ease the challenges and celebrate the little moments of joy along the way -whether by preparing meals, tidying up, offering a listening ear, or simply providing encouragement when it’s needed most.

I feel so grateful to live and work in such a vibrant community, and I can’t wait to be part of your journey and help lighten the load.

Charmaine

Hi, I’m Charmaine!

I’m a mum to four lively little humans who keep life busy, joyful, and always on my toes. We’re semi-new to Oamaru and have absolutely loved settling into such a welcoming community.

Before making the move to the South Island, my family and I owned and ran a small hotel in Taranaki – a special place where I managed the café, restaurant, and accommodation side of things. It was a busy, heart-led chapter that taught me a lot about care, connection, and creating a warm space for others.

Motherhood has certainly had it’s ups and downs for me, from being surrounded by close friends and family, to now navigating the journey of building my own village here.

I’m so excited to be part of the Postpartmum village – not only to fill my own cup, but to meet new (and seasoned) mums and lend a hand wherever and whenever it’s needed.

Magali

Hi, I’m Maga!

I’m originally from Argentina but now call Wānaka home, where I live with my partner and our little one. I became a mum far away from my own family and culture, without the support system I always imagined I’d have. That experience was incredibly tough – but it also lit a fire in me to help other mums feel less alone.

Before motherhood, I was a lawyer. Life looked very different back then! Becoming a parent shifted everything. After many sleepless nights, tears (mine and my baby’s!) and hours of research, I trained as a baby and toddler sleep consultant. Over the past two years, I’ve been supporting tired parents to feel more confident and rested, helping them find their rhythm through sleep routines that actually work for real life.

Joining Postpartmum feels like finding the village I always needed – and now I get to be that village for others! I’m here to walk alongside you during those early, tender months and any other part of your postpartum era. You’re not meant to do this alone – and with us, you don’t have to.

Mackenzie

Hi, I’m Mackenzie!

Mumma of two wee babes and partner to Jono. I’m a qualified early childhood teacher who has enjoyed taking care and helping young children grow.

When I had my first daughter I was so lucky to have my village of family and friends to support us. Whether it was our doing our washing, cooking us a meal, dropping a coffee off or just coming to chat. I’ve also met some pretty amazing mums who I have loved growing alongside as we raise our wee humans together.

I’m feeling so grateful to be apart of the Postpartmum team. Being allowed in to other families postpartum bubble is such a privilege! I look forward to meeting you and being a part of your support crew.
